Slow Roasted Steak

On my last birthday, we discovered that Moriah likes the slow roasted filet from Outback Steakhouse. Since it costs $16.95 per serving, I've been trying to find a way to duplicate it at home. A little research on the web netted this recipe I am home today, I happened to have a steak in the fridge and a big rosemary bush out front, so I decided to give it a try.

25 minutes later, the steak came out of the oven looking pretty good. I previewed a juicy, perfectly medium-rare red-meat morsel, to make sure it was good enough to feed Miss Picky.

Dinner time:Prepared a roasted sweet potato with butter and a sprinkle of brown sugar and cinnamon to go with tender bite-sized pieces of the steak. It looked pretty good to me!

And this is the response from my Mighty M...can you see the tears?!

Next stop after she refused to eat anything but cheerios in her high chair was the computer desk for some youtube videos distraction. That got us 5 bites. Then she'd had enough and went to go play with the power cord to the fax machine. After repeated "no"s she got a 60 second time out on the living room rug. That was so upsetting that she ended up throwing up the 5 bites plus all of the afternoon snacks. Sigh...

  1. 1) The food looks DELICIOUS.
    2) Moriah is so grown up!
    3) I think if you stopped letting M read so many tabloids she wouldn't be so concerned with looking like a supermodel and might eat a little more.

  2. Amy, you're blogging! Woohoo! Wow. You have a major challenge on your hands, not that you need to hear that from me. One day this will be a memory to chuckle over, but you know what? I enjoyed reading today from the All Inclusive Christ that our Christ is UNLIMITED. This means that He is enough for ANY of our situations, no matter how challenging they are.

    Amy Tague, you're hilarious.

  3. Hi Amy! Hope you don't mind--I saw your blog listed on Amy Tague's blog, so I came over :) What a story! Maybe she needed the Outback setting to get into a steak mood. Anyway, she sure is a cutey!

  4. Hi Amy! I'm one of your new readers too. And I will be faithful for multiple reasons, one of the most pertinent being that I too have a picky eater in my household. Argh!! I SO feel your pain. Elim is in the less than 5th percentile in weight. Ugh!

I couldn't see the tears in the picture because I couldn't click on it to zoom in.

She threw up the precious 5 bites? Argh!

How old is Moriah? When's her b-day?
